Laid-off oil field workers filing lawsuits against oil companies for violating federal law on layoff notices

If you are involved in a crash with an 18 wheeler, you need someone who is experienced in handling these types of cases…
As more pink slips flow, attorneys in Texas are gearing up to assist hundreds of oil field workers to file lawsuits against their former employers.
Workers are claiming that employers such as Patterson-UTI, GoFrac and Brazos Rock have violated federal law which requires larger employers to give at least 60 days’ notice ahead of layoffs.
U.S. oil shale fields, like those in South and West Texas, are expected to be among the hardest-hit.
A spokesman for Patterson verified that they intend to defend the claims vigorously. Within the law, there exists an exemption for layoffs caused by “unforseeable business circumstances” which will be a key part of the defendants defense.
